OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 15.0) Part 1
Thanks.
(2015-02-28, 12:22)Milhouse Wrote: @evanspae/@mylle: Any change in PVR behaviour with build #0227? This is a "clean" build (including ccache) which could conceivably make a difference, however build #0215 was also a clean build, so I'm just grasping at straws.

If anyone is able to describe an easy way to reproduce the PVR crashes (without tuners etc.) then I'm willing to give it a go, otherwise I'll have to put this aside until someone adds it to an official release and it becomes their problem... Sad

I tried the PVR Demo client, but it worked perfectly (build #0225).

Sorry. Still crashing Sad

Maybe @margro can help?
O, I thought I'm alone within this problem.
I will try to reproduce and describe that problem.

Downloaded built #0228 for RPi2. Working well. After new boot, it greets me with a "splash screen download failed" message. Any thoughts?

Download over PC : http://milhouse.openelec.tv/other/splash.h264
and put this into Pi2:

/storage/.cache/splash.h264

I've install fresh openELEC 5.0.4 on my new Pi2 and after install a new build i had the same Problem.

(think It was two builds before this)

btw: Internetconnexion existed, because Addons was updated after fresh start.
Not sure why you don't have an internet connection between the end of autostart.sh and beginning of kodi.bin, which is when the splash download/video runs... Enabling "Wait for network" should resolve this issue but apparently doesn't. Are you guys using a wired connection or Wifi? I've not seen any splash download problem with a wired connection.

I'm wired connected to a [email protected] in germany.
On OSD from this Box my Pi2 appearce immediately - after 5 Seconds later this message appears.

All my devices on Network (15 pieces) have a static IP - no DHCP aktivated.

But it is no problem for me - solved with this little indirection over PC in the direction of "/storage/.cache/" - have fun with :-)

*See You any chance to "put in" this little 5mb h264 Vid in your builds in the future, Milhouse? ;-)
I am also with wired internet, also with static IP.

I tried to access remotely, but there is no storage folder. I assume I will need to mount the card in my PC to access it and cannot do remotely?

It's not a good idea to include the video in every image when it only needs to be installed once... I'll see about adding a "wait for network" feature to the video download. Hopefully you can he'll test it in the next build (rename your existing video).

Use ssh.

I put this video on a approved folder on my PC (Network).
The Pi have acsess to them -so i put from PC folder to the Pi cache folder over the Pi in person ;-)

no problem with ...it works fine for me
Thanks, it worked now. I would think it is much easier to have it as part of the image though. If it requires a 5MB download anyways, why not just download it together with the image?

Also, I actually very much like the animation, but the "cut" between the animation and the Isegard screen is quite harsh. Not sure how it can be done better, but maybe some creative minds have some ideas.

Lastly, I remain to have an issue, which I am not sure what it is related to. Some movie posters do not show properly. Actually, instead of the movie poster, a zoomed in version of the movie poster is being shown. In other words, a small part of it blown up. Not sure whether an error log would be helpful. I initially thought it is because of the texture file, but even after deleting it, it remains the same issue. Happens for around 10% of my movies, so it is quite annoying. This issue was already existent in Helix-stable and now still with Isegard-alpha. I am using mysql and this issue does not exist on my other non-rpi2 clients. I don't remember having the same issue with my RPi1, but I don't have it anymore, so cannot prove whether this is correct.

Well, some users update virtually every day, so it's a choice of 5MB every day, or 5MB just once (the current scheme won't download the video if it's already present).
Not saying that 5MB every update is completely unreasonable, but it is an argument for continuing with the current scheme.

You probably also want to add:
"disable_splash=1" to config.txt
nosplash to cmdline.txt
<splash>false</splash> to advancedsettings.xml

to remove the other splash sceens and keep the boot clean.
Hi,

My system works perfectly with your builds. Yesterday I had to look for an "script error" issue and i found this..

I'm getting 10MB of kodi.log and this keeps on and on.. Actually has 100k lines of log. My remote works perfectly and i'm using RCA output. Any idea for this?
You probably just want to disable CEC in Settings -> System -> Input devices -> Peripherals -> CEC Adapter -> Enabled
