OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 15.0) Part 1
(2015-03-12, 18:10)Milhouse Wrote: Yes, the PVR addons are a bit too unstable to be honest, and for the time being there's not a lot I can do about that. Hopefully it won't be too long until things settle down and return to "normal".

The good news is there have been a lot of pull requests merged that are refactoring, cleaning up, and improving performance, so hopefully PVR will be better at the end of this.
There is also a lot of restructuring of the repo's the PVR addons live in and how they are built which is adding to the instability.

So, if PVR is critical to you, it may be worth sticking with a build (or at least keeping it handy to revert to) that does work for you.
Obviously we need some users to keep testing and report when things break or are fixed. If no one mentions something is broken, it probably won't get fixed.
Yep, definitely appreciate what you guys are doing. Hopefully things settle down and get corrected soon so I can try out new releases almost every day.
Hi,
I've been using the test builds for the last few weeks on my Pi 2 with very few problems, but build 0311 has issues with video playback when the sound is output via a USB DAC, the video is extremely jerky when using either of my Fiio E10k or Aune T1 DACs. Using HDMI for audio works perfectly.
The sound works fine when using the DAC's, its just the video that has issues.

Should be fixed in tonight's build.
Setting frame limit to unlimited in video/acceleration settings will probably fix it for now.

Same problem on my Pi2 with USB DAC. Will try the tonight build and report back.
Tried 2 3D mkv with #310 in a Raspberry B.
Both worked well, done with makemkv from isos.
Nice to see you are working on mvc.

By the way, couldn't install #309 nor #310 from scratch, had to install Openelec 5.0.5 official and then update.
Running build #311 all day. Logfile jam packed with lines like this:

Code:

Didn't really notice anything wrong, but the wife was driving. I think it was sluggish to respond to skip forwards in the recordings. She left a recording paused for quite some time late in the day. When she un-paused it, it was dragging really slow. Had to stop and restart the recording to get it playing smoothly again. Everything seems to work alright while the log is piling up messages, just a little sluggish at skipping ahead and back. I can turn debug on if you want or need the extra detail. Seems to have just started doing this on this build, but I'm not guaranteeing that to be true. Didn't notice anything odd about #310, but I can revert back to that and check if you'd like. We don't have subtitles turned on.

Ignore the messages in the middle about PVR WMC server being down..... well because it was. Wink I was working on the box for a couple of hours.

EDIT: Might have spoken too soon. Reverted to #310 and it's doing it too, just not as bad. When she's done watching this recording, I'll try disabling subtitles from the settings menu and see what happens. I'll also roll back to #309 and then 308b to see where it started doing this. When you roll back versions, does it leave anything behind that might have "locked in" this problem? I ask because skipping seems to still be sluggish, but I didn't notice it yesterday when running #310? Skipping back and forth definitely generates these messages. I'll also check liveTV to see if it occurs there too.
Experience: It's what you get when you were expecting something else.
(2015-03-12, 10:26)da-anda Wrote: same issue here. But as this DB only contains some TV channels that in my case get imported anyways on each startup I simply deleted the tv27.db file.

Ah OK thanks, I didn't realise it was safe just to delete that. I haven't got TVH working on my RPi 2 yet anyway, so there won't be any channels in it yet anyway.

How did you do it? I was able to use the create_sdcard script to get started with a nightly on a blank flash card, but I did it with #308b?

Can you expand on this statement - what's the problem?
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

I didn't use create_sdcard, just format both partitions and copy files to first one.
It starts but gets stuck on confluence screen but without menus. Only mouse pointer appears. Switch it off and on and I can see kodi logo and animation but gets stuck again.
Tried it in two different sdcards. I did the same with 5.0.5 official in the same sdcard and it worked well.

hei
Just made a big jump in my rasp pi 2 from a build in Feb to the latest one
I got now stuck after the install on the startup screen from Kodi

any idea of what went wrong?

thanks
Probably stuck upgrading TV27.db, but will need a debug log (wiki) to be sure.

There should be a fix for TV27/TV28 in tonight's build.

Same problem on my Pi2 with USB DAC. Will try the tonight build and report back.

After playing the same videos with #0312 no more yerky playback when using my USB DAC. Excellent work, I owe you a beer...
