Hi,

I want to set up a main menu option for our Home Movies. Since these are just video files, and are already organized in subfolders, they don't need to be part of the library and I don't want to dump them into it, either. I just want an option on the main menu that will open the parent folder. I've tried using Video Files but it just drops me into the list of added source directories, which is way too many. Is there a way to default it to a specific parent directory or source?

I've seen smart playlists and nodes recommended for some applications, but both of those apparently require adding the material into the video library. I'd rather avoid that if possible.

Add the home movies folder as a video source, but don't set a content type to it. Add this source to your favorites, and then add that favorite to your home screen through main menu customization.
