Kodi just started crashing out of the blue
#1
Was working fine all day. Then out of nowhere, error message - Kodi has stopped working. So I closed it and restarted. The error returned on startup. I rebooted computer. Same problem. Since that time, it is now crashing within 10-15 seconds of startup, with no input from me. Simply stops responding. I can't get in to change settings or logs etc because it crashes before I do so.

Running Kodi Helix, Windows 8.1, kernel: Windows NT x86 64-bit version 6. Intel® Core™ i3-4010U CPU @ 1.70GHz.

Cut and paste log below:

Thanks for any help.

I too am having this problem with similar specs as OP. When I turned HTPC back on, it started happening. Any help would be appreciated. Will post log as well if it helps.

Mine is doing the same. Was watching a movie at 7:30pm changed movies at 8:30. Then stopped it myself and went to watch it again but KODI 14 just keeps shutting down.

Same here. I am on a laptop with an i3 CPU @ 1.8GHz, 4GB RAM, WIN 8.1, 64 bit. Kodi has stopped at various places...sometimes when there is nothing playing. On a different issue, I have tried to get iStream going, but no avail.

Same problem here on Windows 7. It had been working fine till now.
I've tried a clean re-install however the problem doesn't fix itself. It's happening at start-up right after the usual auto-updates.

I'm also having this problem. Windows 7, latest stable build (and the latest nightly).

Since I hadn't been grabbing logs before this, I had to figure out how to get the logs, but I've had a bear of a time. The program has been very stable for about a month or so but all of a sudden today it's started crashing within 10 seconds of startup. It was working find up until about 2 hours ago.

I've had bad scripts at startup for many weeks and that's never prevented me from using it. Now I can't get it to work long enough to get the logs.

Looks like it's a problem for all - Windows 7 64 bit here - although XBMC Gotham still seems to be working on my Android Mini PC on my TV

Hmm, mine's working just fine. I even just now rebooted my computer to make sure. I'm using Win 7 64bit too. I wonder if it's something related to a common plugin.
Using the new Kodi 14.0 built from the 23rd.

It just started crashing this morning - it was fine yesterday - I installed Helix 14.0 about an hour ago to see if that helped but it didn't.

Mine started crashing shortly before midnight, on both my android (skystreamX4) and windows 7 PC. The logfile shows "Repository SportsDevil REPO returned no add-ons, listing may have failed" in each case. The windows logfile is here http://pastebin.com/XqnKpJb0; the X4 logfile here http://pastebin.com/3MBHkez7 and here http://pastebin.com/RtL9AtaU. I'm using Gotham 13.2 on windows and 13.1 on the X4.

@steepens:

Remove all your unsupported illegal video streaming addons, and try again to see if it is still crashing. If yes, post a new log. If not, you just discovered why they are unsupported.

My money is on the last option.
