Kodi "server" like plex media server?

did this ever happen? or is media server still the alternative to plex and limited features inside kodi.

It's being worked on. You can follow half of the progress here. http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=224794 That portion is what allows Kodi to share and receive upnp libraries to and from other instances of Kodi. It also allows the integration of Plex and Emby into the Kodi library. The second portion is transcoding. That won't be ready to be worked on until the videoplayer stuff is finished, which still has a ways to go.

i installed v17 and PlexKodiConnect addon late last night need to figure out why playback is jittery.

also with PlexKodiConnect, can i not use kodi built in features and/or add-ons like trailer preview and cinema experience?
