Changing files via Putty
#1
Noob here that needs some help. I'm running Kodi on my Chromebox in a dual boot format and I'm having issues in with TrueHD and Master HD options not showing up due to an issue with my receiver (Harmon Kardon AVR 254) and after doing some reading I think I found the problem. I need to get in and change a few things. ( post #29 http://openelec.tv/forum/68-audio/71317-...=15#113428). I have downloaded Putty and put the ssh_enable file in the config folder but when I go to try and make the connection I get the error "network error: Connection refused." What the heck am I doing wrong? I am a complete noob when it comes to this stuff so hopefully I'm going in the right direction.

You don't need to add a "ssh_enable file. Openelec has a special settings menu

Thank you, I got in. The only problem now is that I have no clue what I'm doing. Maybe something like this is a bit too advanced for me.

You would be the first one I heard off, who has to change files for grtting passthrough to work.

Have you enabled those audio formats in the normal system settings? Did you enable passthrough in general? Be aware that you have to change your settings level to "advanced" or better "expert" to see those settings.

Which issues does your AVR have?

I have everything enabled they just don't show up for my AVR. Here is a link to my other thread. http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=214615

This issue is a problem with certain Harmon Kardon AVR not reporting they can indeed to True HD and Master HD. What's really frustrating is last night it started working out of the blue for some reason and this morning it stopped working again.
