Could this PVR add-on for Radio RDS make it into the official Kodi 17.0 release?

https://github.com/xbmc/repo-binary-addons/pull/57

That is, will this add-on be bundled with releases like all other PVR add-ons?

https://github.com/xbmc/repo-binary-addons

It is not yet listed in the official repository for Kodi binary add-ons:

https://github.com/AlwinEsch/pvr.rtl.radiofm

https://github.com/kodi-pvr

Sure hope it will be made part of the official Kodi 17.0 release.

AlbrechtL (Albrecht Lohofener) have a stand-alone streaming server for here https://github.com/AlbrechtL/rtl_fm_streamer

This server runs under Linux on a PC or Raspberry Pi but it can stream to clients running Kodi on any operating-system.

Hmm ... and *how* does this work? Is there an addon python script to be able to scan the frequencies for FM and DAB as well as store the found stations in a file (json or m3u or sowhatever). I've compiled rtl_fm_streamer for static binaries to use them on a NAS and found some binaries
Code:
Hardware/rtl_fm_streamer-0.5.3/root/usr/local/bin/rtl_sdr
Hardware/rtl_fm_streamer-0.5.3/root/usr/local/bin/rtl_tcp
Hardware/rtl_fm_streamer-0.5.3/root/usr/local/bin/rtl_test
Hardware/rtl_fm_streamer-0.5.3/root/usr/local/bin/rtl_fm
Hardware/rtl_fm_streamer-0.5.3/root/usr/local/bin/rtl_eeprom
Hardware/rtl_fm_streamer-0.5.3/root/usr/local/bin/rtl_adsb
Hardware/rtl_fm_streamer-0.5.3/root/usr/local/bin/rtl_power
indeed rtl_test works
Code:
[/] # //share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Public/rtl_test
Found 1 device(s):
   0:  Realtek, RTL2838UHIDIR, SN: 00000001

Using device 0: Generic RTL2832U OEM
Found Fitipower FC0012 tuner
Supported gain values (5): -9.9 -4.0 7.1 17.9 19.2
Sampling at 2048000 S/s.

Info: This tool will continuously read from the device, and report if
samples get lost. If you observe no further output, everything is fine.

Reading samples in async mode...
lost at least 72 bytes
^CSignal caught, exiting!

User cancel, exiting...
Samples per million lost (minimum): 5
... but how to use rtl_sdr or rtl_fm without wrapper to be able to use it?
Also I do not understand what is wrong with pvr.rtl.radiofm for kodi kryptonit ... is there a licence and/or patent problem?
