Hi,
my Amazon Prime Instant Video addon is ready for some testing.
It's not like the existing Amazon addons (which are based on Bluecops version):
No database of the movies / tv-shows is being created. Has pros & contras...

Just choose the site version (US/UK/DE) at the first start. After closing the settings enter your email and password.

You can also test the addon without a Prime account (an Amazon account is still required),
then only the free Amazon Originals (Pilot Season 2015) are listed.

Covers & fanart images can be received from themoviedb. The images are loaded in the background.

You can add movies and single seasons to your kodi library via context menu.
Simply add this source: "Home folder"->userdata->addon_data->plugin.video.prime_instant->library->Movies/TV

More functions like "Choose quality", "Play Trailer" or "Add to your Watchlist" are also available via context menu.

If you encounter buffering issues, try restarting the stream or change the quality.
The US version only supports 720p@2500kb (at least the free episodes I tested).
With the UK/DE version, most videos are available in 1080p@10000kb.
Audio is stereo.

Hope you can integrate the amazon oauth stuff soon, I hate the idea of storing my password in plaintext. Someone could use it to login to amazon and purchase everything from aardvarks to zebras and it would never be flagged as fraudulent by my credit card because like everybody else I buy so much random crap there anyway.

- Changed login (email and password are not stored anymore)

The saved settings (from v1.0.0) get overwritten - so you don't have to do anything manually.

The addon is using the website, and afaik it only supports login via email/password.
But I changed it in the addon, so that email and password are not stored anymore. You just have to enter them on login.

Works great on AppleTV2, although typing the password is a bit awkward with a remote

Could you add the following when you have the time?
- don't default to poster view for shows/movies selection (My Watchlist / My Library ... ) but List?
- for shows that have only 1 season, could you add an option to add the show to the library
- Even better, option to automatically import all my watch lists to the library?

This addon is awesome - I can now watch Prime videos from within Kodi on my Fire TV using my Fire TV skin.

I do have a few suggestions/requests though -

1. I don't see any plot in movie or tv show views



2. Even though I selected the tv show view id it still used the movie one. Possibly because I have it set to only be visible for tv shows or season content and they're not getting set as such in the addon?



3. There's no ListItem.TVShowTitle label so in season and episode views there's no heading

Out of curiosity, how does this addon work at all? I assumed it would open a copy of chrome like your excellent Netflix addon, but it actually plays Amazon videos inside Kodi! I thought that was impossible after Amazon added DRM to their media. Does the new binary addon system allow this to work somehow?

I have a little question:

It's possible to update the watch-status with this addon? I mean the watch-status of films and series on the Amazon-Website (and their officially addons - e.g. for Android and Smart-TVs)?
