I've tried setting email and password manually in the settings.xml but they get blanked out when starting the plugin. Whenever I try to play a video, I get a popup that I need to specifiy credentials and restart the plugin. I'm running 1.0.23.

Tried read-only (chmod a-w), it still changed the email and password in settings.xml to blank. I set the immutable flag (chattr +i) on that file and now the values stay in it, but I still get the notification that login failed and the plugin needs to be restarted. I'm using Kodi 15 beta 2.

I'm in the USA btw.

I tried the newest version here for US and 1.0.2 and do not get prompted for login credentials. I get an error when trying to play video that I need to enter valid credentials but have found no way to do so. I tried manually entering my credentials in the the .py file to no avail.

lordk posted (on kodinerds) that v1.0.24 is released. Check if it solves US login issues. I'm not ready to try it yet as I heavily reworked default.py in the previous version.

Hooray! It asks for my credentials now in the USA. Similar to what happened with previous versions of the plugin, some content works ok if it comes from fplive.net. If if comes from edgefcs.net it fails with an rtmp error.

I am using v1.0.24 in the USA and I am able to get to the point of selecting the movie or TV show to be played and I get the following error and nothing was played:

Yep, I get that error whenever edgefcs.net is serving up the content. When fplive.net serves up the content, it works. Try "How I Met Your Mother" season 9 as that was working for me last night.

Well dang! It had fplive.net for us Sunday night. I thought the whole point behind the new repository and version of the plugin was to move away from the rtmp method and do something new that worked...

There is a later version over on Kodinerds; 1.0.26. I installed that and was FINALLY prompted for my Amazon Prime account username and password.
I can now see my Watchlists for both TV shows and Movies.

However, whenever I try to play anything back I'm getting an error.

Try playing "Kids for Cash". It has reliably had level3 cdn availability in the US over several weeks. It is possible, however, that cdn selection is determined either by region (of the US), cdn load, or both.

In the US, the urls are returned for either akamai only or akamai and level3. I've never seen only level3 returned. The add-on would be better for US users if it had logic to just bail if only akamai was returned - and not even attempt to play those. I believe that Europe has only level3 in all cases.

I did a search on "Kids for Cash" and I found Biz Kid$. I played one of those and it worked. I looked at the log and this one was fplive.net.

I retried some of the ones noted already and they failed.

So I thought the point of the newer Amazon plugin was to use something other than rtmp to authenticate. If it is still using rtmp and doesn't work with swfvfy=2 which akamai seems to use, I'm not sure there is any improvement in the US from the older AddonScriptorDE version/repository.

@lordk - Thankyou so much. UK user here and from my tests it's been working perfect. Haven't had a hiccup yet. Can't comment for all the US users having issues but as far as UK user, your fixes and repo are great! Many thanks! Signed up here just to say thankyou. Having Amazon Instant video working in XBMC is enough reason on it's own in my eyes to use XBMC, especially as I am using on an Android tv box and can now watch endless prime content (And purchased) all through my TV. Happy days! (btw I am using Gotham 13.2)
