If they are Gif and already uploaded to web, just copy and paste the link into picture or you can upload your entire gifs on Dropbox.

I'm on a mac with kodi 15.2 with AEON NOX 5 and I try to use gif poster but with no success.
I've changed my advanced setting by adding
<videoextensions>
<add>.gif</add>
</videoextensions>
change manually the poster to use the poster.gif
but no animation.
