IIRC this is not android specific but gles specfic (which you use on odroid too for sure).

Thats the reason why i don't even wanna think on how you spent your 40 years coding tbh (finger snipping and done - right?)... This statement is done like non-developers do it all the time. Mali is the GPU - it won't really bring any hardware deinterlacing units (beside the shader approach i linked to above). VPU or IPU is a different story and might even have hw deinterlace support - but that has nothing to do with mali (and is not a finger snip i guess).

If you ment some special feature of the Mali GPU we don't know of - please don't hold back in writing it down here.
