I have sever issues with e.g. 25 fps content that should play at 50hz. The fps somewhere ends at 25.67 fps.

Reverting only the clock part fixes it.

It did not help to set speed = rate / fps; instead of the 1.0 in the beginning. 23.976 content works as it should.

It switches to 59.94 hz, but the fps are constantly wrong.

I dont use 25 fps files so this is no issue for me but a dev build with the fixed patch would be nice :-)

Ok wierd...

I am now using the latest Openelec (5.0.2) and now Kodi switches on a 24p File first to 24p and after some time to 23,976

xrandr first with 24.0000 Mode on "true" and after the switch with 23,97608 Mode on "true"

Holy batcrap. This has got to be a contender for best useability fix in a long time! I've always put these dropped-frame issues down to the fact that my Ivy Bridge/HD4000 based system wasn't supposed to handle true 23.976Hz video material (which all web searches will indeed tell you.) But with this fix the video playback is super-smooth; even when running passthrough audio. Not a single dropped frame during a 2 1/2hr feature.

So big thanks to @robo989 for reporting this, to @fritsch for testing and especially @FernetMenta for making the PR and fixing the antique way of handling of the clock speed with its rounding 'magic'! This has truly made my XBMC (sorry; Kodi) viewing experience miles better.

Really an awesome little fix–kudos! (if there was a way I could buy you a beer for this I would!)
