I'm a long time XBMC/Kodi user and cord cutter. I signed up for Sling TV today to check it out. Seems like a great way to get ESPN/TNT/TBS so I don't miss any big games. With the addition of AMC, I couldn't resist. I miss watching Walking Dead live.
Has anyone played around with the idea of bringing Sling TV channels into one of the PVR back ends? Do they generate as IPTV steams? It would be great to have the "cable" stations in the same interface as the locals I'm picking up over antenna. Even better if I could pause and record.

Good thoughts. One way to integrate SlingTV into Kodi might be through Playon with recording option via Playlater.

There are no "streams" per-se as everything is contained within their applications, not accessible on a web browser. Unless they publish their API information, there's no way anyone is going to integrate their channels on another platform, and there's no way that is ever going to happen.

Yeah but when there is a will there is way. And I do believe that anything that is displayed on your computer can be recorded or captured at least. It may be difficult but could you not just create software that does an automatic screen/audio capture/record of this program running in background and set it two switch to a certain channel on an external command? We don't need to separate the stream from the program, just work around with what we are given. Also EPGs can be compiled from the internet and do not need to be pulled from the program itself. I am no programmer, so I know nothing of the certain limitations. Although, I would absolutley love to see this come to fruition bc this needs to be hacked lol
