Hi all,

Something I've been wondering how to do for AGES is how to add several films to something like a "Movie Night List" of films, from which to then choose what to watch.

The only way I've found is to create a Tag, then "tag" several movies, then go browse that Tag to see the list.

The ideal for me would be to be able to manage a few custom lists of films (e.g. "Movie Night with the Boys", "Halloween Movie night", etc.) and perhaps even add a link to one of these list from the main/home "Movies" menu screen.

Does anyone know of a way (or Add-on) that can do this? Seems like a fairly standard feature.

One option would be to mark the videos as Favorites. Perhaps a better option would be to create seperate source folders for each category. Then create smart playlists based on file location. All you would need to do is place the video file in the appropriate folder.

Thanks wgstarks, Favourites seems to be the only real option out-of-the-box.

I should've said that, ideally this should all be doable by the TV remote. For example, casually going "What shall we watch tonight?" then scrolling through the entire list of films and essentially adding some suggestions like you would to an online shopping basket. Only for your significant other to then browse your shortlist and go "Nope, nope, nope..."

What I find annoying about Favourites (at least in the Amber skin), is that they don't show like normal movie lists; they show as film covers, that's it - no plot, rating, etc.

Not really familiar with Amber but can't you change the view in the left menu?

You could use Super Favourites to create folders for each list and then add links to the movies in each relevant folder.

Just thought I'd awaken this thread as I stumbled across a Shortlist addon for Kodi on Reddit, but the thread is closed and I cant seem to find anything else about it. Has anyone else used it, or come across another similar?

I just tested the latest version, seems great so far. I had tested the previous GitHub version and had to go back to Ver 0.0.2 (it was only showing one movie in the list, when the were 6 or more).

Great addon.
I’m using super favorites today to create these kinds of lists but it is a little complex and not that easy for my child to add what he wants to add to his list. This addon makes that super easy. However, it would be great if the addon also could handle TV Shows/directories and also the possibility to change thumbs.

Just curious if you were able to get this add-on to work with Aeon Nox Silvo (based on your sig). Been trying to do so on my side and having trouble getting the option to actually add content to the shortlists after making them in the add-on.

Thanks @Karellen , if there is more interest/issues, I will start a new thread. I had forked this Addon to get my feet wet in Kodi Addon development (and because it was not maintained and needed modifications for Matrix).
