I have always used kodi builds on my phone and computer.im tired of paying directv prices so I want to learn how to jailbreak and unlock a device. Which device is better to use for Kodi?

I've never tried to "jail break" my Fire TV... Sideloading Kodi is really something that takes about 5min. Very simple and there are a bazillion instructions out there with different ways of accomplishing the task. I will say, the only one I've tried that I *did not* like, was using ES File explorer. It's just awkward to me. It probably works fine, but trying to download w/ ESFE, etc.. I just had problems.
I use Linux rather than Windows, but I typically use "method 1" in this Link. It should be the same on either OS.

The fact that people insist upon calling sideloading Kodi onto an otherwise unmodified Fire TV box "jailbreaking" is one of those things that annoy me to no end.

As well, you don't "jailbreak" Android.
