NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box)

Dolby 7.1 = EAC3

Still no DTS-MA / TrueHD audio advertised...

My question is, if the Shield is capable or native HD pass-through gets added will there be a change in AE so that it doesn't have to use a "hack" (your word) for pass-through?

The reason that I ask is that Kodi on Android has never played nice with my AVR, but I don't have the same issue with the Shields native video player, at least not with DTS/DD. I'm just wondering if there might not be a more straight forward way of handling pass-through so that I don't have to decode it on the Shield (not that I care where it's decoded, but hey, I paid for the decoder in my AVR & it might as well get used) or go buy a new AVR just to get it to work properly?
