Hello,
From my experience, you can control the Shield (Android) volume with the remote. I have not tried finding a way to control the TV volume with the remote, and never accidentally did it. But in my opinion it is fine this way, i have control on the volume with the Shield volume adjustment.

On a side note, i can control Kodi from my TV (Pana GT30) remote, which is nice.

Thanks for the reply. Still not getting it completely. For me it is important that if I use the Shield remote I can turn TV whn wakeing the Shield up from standbay and that it turns off the TV when I put it into standby and that I can control the TVs Volume with the Shield remote.

That all I had with the Apple TV 4 which was really great. Just the playback capabilities were bad...

If this is possible, then the Shield is bought Smile

If you are using HDMI ARC with your AVR, then yes you can do that.

Doesn't turn off tv but will turn on tv and avr.
