I haven't watched a DVD or SD TV show in the last 6 years or so. So, I don't think I will be able to tell the difference Wink

BTW, codec info shows dc-amc-mpeg2(S) or dc-amc-h264(S). I am using Kodi v17.0 (pre-alpha) and I cannot seem to find deinterlacer options on it.

When you are playing a file and brings up the OSD they are the first couple of options in the video menu (where you also chose how stuff is scaled etc.)

The difference between a basic Bob and decent hardware deinterlace is a major increase in the vertical resolution - which is usually even easier to see on SD than HD stuff, though is also pretty clear on HD content.

It's particularly noticeable on native interlaced content with high resolution graphics - like 1080/50i news channels with logos and tickers. (In the UK the BBC News Channel ticker and logo is a good test)
