Check this YouTube clip. It is a capture from the SHIELD playing a native interlaced SD clip on Kodi v17 (pre alpha) (the clip was uploaded by one of the forum members, @RageCrap.). I am not seeing any deinterlacer options in the video menu (I hope I am looking at the right place).

The occassional pause/freeze happens only in the capture. I think it has to do with the dropped frames. As you can see in the codec OSD there is massive frame dropping.
