@wesk05 Actually, what I don't understand is why 1080i would be more efficient bandwidth-wise than 1080p, assuming equal framerate and resolution (i.e. not comparing 1080i60, which is 1080p60 at half resolution, to 1080p60 full resolution).

Or is it just that? Sacrificing vertical resolution for higher framerates?
