@all students, I'm not a student myself but I have a tip to all you student this year, which is to checkout all these previous GSOC discussions around project ideas from the years before:

There looks to be many great ideas and concept in those, and many of those great ideas looks to never been realized or abandoned for no good reason. And other than that, they contain examples and discussions on what is good or bad with how people present their ideas, and what others get excited about.

@Mods, I would even suggestion to merge all the GSOC"year" subforums into only one "GSOC" forum. That is, please consider having only one subforum for "GSOC" as right now now there are five subforums dedicated for just GSOC, with one subforum one for each year. Why not only have one? If there is a need to have dedicated forum?

Arguments for only one subforum for GSOC and not one for each year are that it is at least easier to find other idea and discussions from every years if all threads was in only a single forum. Arguments for not having any dedicated GSOC subforums at all would be less clutter and good if a project extends longer than the summer.
