I think I may have fixed the issue. I upgraded my system to 16.1 and did a fresh install. I now have 2 systems that seem to being doing as they should. I will try and do fresh starts on my fireTv sticks and see if that works for me. Is there an easy way to backup my config on my mac's and restore that to the firestick?
To copy my build from one box to another I copy the .kodi folder from my android box to replace the Kodi folder on my WIN10 laptop, or vice versa.
Kodi and .kodi are hidden folders, so you have to have 'show hidden files' set to yes in your file browsers or you won't see them
Also need to have run Kodi at least once on the target box to create the .kodi/Kodi folder file structure that you are going to replace. Do a delete of the folder you are replacing, then a paste of the folder you are replacing it with.
There are back up and re-install packages but I have seen too many 'didn't work' posts, which by then your work is lost. I keep a number of dated and timed .kodi folder backups so I can go back to an earlier version if I need to, very rarely a problem creeps into my build without me noticing it straight away.
The Kodi file structures across OSs are documented in here:-

Thanks Jeffers24! This is a big help. I may try and give this a shot. When you do the restore do you first do a Fresh Start on your Kodi box that you are trying to Clone?
Thanks!
No, I just delete the .kodi/Kodi folder I want to replace, copy the replacement .kodi/Kodi folder and rename if I am going across platforms, so if copying from android to windows I would delete the windows folder Kodi, copy the android folder .kodi to the folder I had just deleted the Kodi folder from and rename it Kodi.
You need to be aware of and do a path substitution if your build references any items stored on external storage devices if the path to the items is different.
