thx for the guide, just what i needed 
But have a weird issue i haven't figured out yet. I'm using a Logitech Smart Control Hub and remote and the MyHarmony software, but when i press the custom action button my Intel NUC goes into powersave mode...
I then have to wait for it to boot back up and login to Windows - the button was pressed when Kodi was running.

Kodi: 14.1
IR: HP OVU400103
Added under devices: Windows MediaCenter SE,MCE Keyboard and Samsung PS51D7005 (my TV)
Under activity: custom action with all my devices, TV to HDMI1 and no change of input for the other two
