Where do you see 23.976? Your Epson projector is only showing 23.97 that doesn't mean that it is 23.976. I do not have the himedia Q5 so, I cannot tell you what its actual output is. The refresh rate numbers that I provide are from Quantum Data 780 or Lumagen Radiance processor.

Amlogic S8xx has had 23.976(5) support for almost a year now. They got the AV sync and AVR compatibility problems sorted out only a few months ago.

Currently, Amlogic has some problem on the compatibility between 23.976 and HD audio Passthrough. You can only choose one, 23.976 or HD audio passthrough.
This is a complicated problem that can't be solved with software. When they released their 64-bit chipset, this will be solved.
