Release WNBC Programs

(2015-09-02, 21:43)ronrood Wrote: This great addon stopped working for me about a week ago. All the videos come back with 'no playable video found' error message. Curiously the thumbnail of the video is shown.
I get this on all my windows machines and android tablet.

I am using Version 1.0.8 downloaded from the stock Kodi repo. Located in Maryland with Verizon FiOS.

Shit, I didn't do a pull request on the latest version for the kodi.org repo. The latest version is 1.0.9 and is available here:
https://github.com/learningit/plugin.video.wnbc

or in my test repo:
https://github.com/learningit/repository...odi_addons

Thanks for pointing this out, you should be ok with the newest version.
[EDIT] I've just put in a pull request for the kodi.org repo, it should show up there in a day or two. Sorry about that, I lose track of which addons have updates sometimes.

You need to give some specific information about what doesn't play, as well as a debug log if you want to track this issue.
The addon is working for me - there are some entries (particularly classic shows) which do not have any playable content.

I looked at the addon again last night and now when I selected a date and clicked on it...the video played! Now that the addon has been updated it works a treat. Thanks! I can watch the news again in KODI. Smile

This addon looks great! I sent it to my fire tv and loaded up fine but when I select a show (for example Days of our lives), I get a playback failed. I'm using the latest version 1.0.9

If you are outside the US, you may need a VPN or DNS solution. What version of Kodi are you running?

I'm in the U.S. I'm using Kodi 14.2, on Fire TV.
No issues with loading up the addon. I'm just getting a play failed error

14.2 on the Amazon Fire Stick won't cut it. Doesn't have ffmpeg https support, you need to upgrade to play videos. You need 15.0 or above.

Thanks I'll try it out on 15.0

Both 15.1 and 15.2 work fine on Fire TV for me. I would recommend at least 15.1, there are a few irritating problems with 15.0.
Once you upgrade you'll be able to run several more of my addons without problems, not having https in ffmpeg affects lots of them.

NBC Nightly News seems to have disappeared sometime during the last few days. Any info on why, and if it might return?

Good catch. NBC has separated shows from news, sports, the today show, etc. They're now on separate websites and the content on the NBC website is greatly reduced.
I'll get to this when I have some free time, It looks like a fair bit of work to bring everything back together.

Website change. Some episodes are now locked and require cable id sign-on. If you get a 404 or 403 error that means that episode is locked.
I believe we can expect more episodes to be locked in the future.
Version 1.0.10 is available in my git:
https://github.com/learningit/plugin.video.wnbc

or in my test repo:
https://github.com/learningit/repository...odi_addons

A pull request has been made for the kodi.org repo, should be updated in a few days.

I have installed version 1.0.10 and I still get a 404 error for every single episode of any program in the WNBC app.
Of particular interest, of course, is Days of our lives, for my wife, but I noticed that all of the programs get the same 404 error.

My version is Isengard 15.2, but I'm sure it must be a website mis-spell or something similar.

Thanks for your help,
DaveS
