Interesting! I got ep2 (Sanctuary.S01E02.HD.WEBRiP.XViD-AEROX.avi) and just watched it - 15 dropped frames (10 were in one spot in the intro) with 181/194 early/late frames. Just re-watched the intro and only 3 dropped this time.

Another interesting thing is the show is completely green-screened - there's no sets, all computer generated.

Yeah, the aerox ones were what I analyzed (but watch out; their 'xvid' for E05 is actually H264 codec grrr).

re: frame drops - try playing from local hard disk and/or turn other services off (see earlier in this thread) to free up cpu.

Another handy tweak (complicated to explain why it helps) is edit
xbmc/system/players/mplayer/mplayer.conf
and enable the autosync=30 line
