Direct 3D 9 and Direct 3D 11 are two ways to display madVR. Direct 3D 11 is needed for 10-bit output but can cause problems with some systems. So Direct 3D 9 is the safest way to present madVR.
The pre-rendered frames set the frame buffer. This buffer renders frames in advance of displaying them to prevent presentation glitches. A smaller buffer means more responsive control but a greater chance of presentation glitches.
