I would like to be really anal about 8 bit and 12 bit switching. So my question is where exactly within madvr settings would I place this configuration for it to work, under what tab? Thanks for your help
devices -> properties. Create two profiles for the properties field.
Got it.... thanks

I already use Launcher4Kodi to start Kodi, but it has no functions for playback in it.
Are you using the forced focus settings? And have you tried changing the shell?
Forced Focus doesn't work with external applications like games.

Another shell disables th second Display which I need.

Maybe there is some app to do what I want.

If (deintFps <= 30) "10-bit"
else "8-bit"

I've never heard of an SDR display that can't handle 12-bits without creating banding. Only recent UHD displays seem to have this issue. My best guess is they are all 10-bit panels and 10-bit panels are new and haven't been perfected yet. I would guess they would also show some banding with a 10-bit input. The extra 2-bits shouldn't matter. The majority should handle 12-bit inputs as well or better than 8-bit inputs.
Thanks, I have created the two profiles:
"10-Bit" in madvr is setup to 10 bit (or highter)
"8-bit" in madvr is setup to 8 bit

Then I select into the nVidia control panel the refresh to 24Hz and 12 bpc, and then went back to the 60Hz and 8 bpc.
With this trick, the movie in 24p start in 12bpc. But when i restar the PC, i need to re-setup the refresh to 24p and 12bpc.
Why? It's a bug of the nvidia driver?

If I setup only 8bpc in the nVidia control panel and start a movie 4k HDR, the CTRL+J show me 8bit (at the top right). It's correct?
But the movie is 10bpc

Thanks a lot

Yes, that is a driver bug. A custom resolution almost always results in this, but it could happen without one.

10-bits at 8-bits is acceptable because dithering is used. You shouldn’t have banding if you can’t get 12-bits to work.

 Hi Warner360.
It also interests me have two profiles 8/10 Bit and I created one as per screenshot , but I must have done something wrong because of an error.

The “10-bit” and “8-bit” needs to match your profile names, so you need to change “Profile 10 bit” to “10-bit” and “Profile 8 bit” to “8-bit” or vice versa.

Right observation , in fact you're right , I keep the rule like that 10-bit/8-bit the rule is created with his green flag.
Thank you for the tip.

Haven't had this issue. Has this only become an issue recently? Is this related to specific rips or all files in your library?

If the audio stops, either LAV Audio has stopped decoding the audio for some reason or the audio renderer has lost connection to the audio device.

You should try both WASAPI Exclusive and WASAPI Shared, another audio renderer, updating LAV Filters (as described here) or outputting audio as PCM to diagnose the issue. It sounds like it is related to bitstreaming.

not has this issue either, have you updated you LAV filters recently, worth a try, make sure delete everything in there first.

Also remember to check you have configured your audio correctly in the DSPLAYER menu rather than the system audio menu as you are using external filters.

I've had this problem too with DTS HD. After disabling passthrough for it in the Dsplayer settings it worked.

I don't know what it is but dsplayer started to be very unstable... Everytime it's idle and I go back to play an episode it crashes... In progress episode disapear from the unwatched widget and I never get him out of the screen saver unless I minimize and maximize the screen from window to fullscreen...

Ok thanks guy's, I'd already tried all the things you guy's suggested before I posted, all except for "disabling passthrough for it in the Dsplayer settings" which I'll try later on tonight. Cheers for the help.
