Okay, what version of Kodi? 15.0 and are you using SMB?

Not yet. From the madVR forums, it's something that's planned or hoped for.

edit: i guess i'm wrong.

It has option to "extended to 16:9" which do exactly what you asked.

For example, with one disc, the main menu is being skipped and a random extra is playing. The video is also not being played in 16:9 and is staying squashed in a 4:3 ratio. Filters are DVD Navigator, LAV Splitter, Audio, Video and XySubFilter - and of course MadVR

These discs work perfectly in MPC-HC with LAV filters and MadVR, and in standard Kodi too.

Is the DVD Navigator filter that you can use in DSPlayer inferior to that of standard Kodi and MPC-HC? Or could something else be the issue?
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Why are certain DVDs playing nicely in both standard Kodi and MPC-HC w/ LAV + MadVR, but not Kodi DSPlayer w/ LAV + MadVR?

It has been said many times that DSPlayer hasn't got its own dvd structure handler and rely on microsoft abandoned & incompleted DVD Navigator directshow filter.

Some would works fine but some don't. Unless you can write better dvd structure navigator directshow filters , you're gonna stuck with this. Other player use other kind of its own dvd handler to avoid this problem. Also I really suspect DSPlayer handle of ISO file to be incompleted as well.

You're better off with using DVDPlayer to handle DVD Disc. Or if you must use DSPlayer you could use MakeMKV to convert ISO to mkv. You're gonna lose menu & stuff but it would play fine with DSPlayer.

Also you can try find 3rd party dvd navigator directshow filter to replace microsoft one.

Thanks for your response, oldpoem.

So just to clarify for me, the DVD navigator that vanilla Kodi uses is different to the one that DSPlayer Kodi uses (and presumably MPC-HC)?

Vanilla Kodi DVD handler is built-in and not based on directshow filter. MPC-HC also use their own built-in DVD handler.

DSPlayer uses directshow filter, so unless you replace dvd navigator with a better one, you got stuck here. I don't use DVD anymore so can't help much on finding solution. But I believe there is 3rd party directshow filter available and might can be used instead of default one. But don't ask me where to find or if it works since I really don't know. I went on Converted MKV way long time ago.

Maybe someone could look into MPC-HC source and got something out of it. whether a directshow filter or built-in DSPlayer ISO/IFO handler.

I can't wait for the jarvis release with I hope a x64 version.
I can't wait for the new madvr release too.

Hey warner306, why not creating something like kawaii codec pack or k-lite?
It would be awesome and popularize kodi dsplayer. Wink

I wish aracnoz is enjoying a much deserved vacation after all this work. Bask under the sun, my friend, Fall will come too soon, unfortunately. Smile
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).

I don't know how to create an all-in-one installer. It would be great to have, of course.

These are all the information I collected to create such installer.
Hope it can help someone to create the kodi dsplayer ultimate installer. Wink

I think the simplest way is with innosetup:
http://www.jrsoftware.org/isdl.php#stable

There is a simple gui to create such installer:
https://www.kymoto.org/products/inno-script-studio

Download links for all the applications:
http://www.videohelp.com/software/Kodi-DSPlayer
http://www.videohelp.com/software/LAV-Filters
http://madshi.net/madVR.zip
http://www.videohelp.com/software/XySubFilter

Silent install switch for kodi dsplayer:
Code:
/S

Silent install switch for lavfilters x86:
Code:
/VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP /COMPONENTS="lavsplitter32,lavaudio32,lavvideo32"

Install madvr silently:
Code:
regsvr32 /s "path\to\madVR.ax"

Install xysubfilter silently:
Code:
regsvr32 /s "path\to\XySubFilter.dll "

Do these installers auto-update to the latest version of each application or do I have to recreate the installer each time a new version of the software is released?
