It depends on your programming skills. Wink

Normally with innosetup you bundle each file/executable in the final installer setup.
So you have to download each update and recreate the installer.
But you can also create a script/program that download the latest release of each file and install them.
The problem with this solution is that it can break your installer if something change like the download url.
The madvr download url is always the same but not the other ones.

I can't say more about it since I am not a scripter/programmer. Sad

I looked into the software to create an all-in-installer and decided I would leave it alone. Without an automatic update, the installer would have to be created a least once or twice a month to keep pace with software updates. This is too much time to devote to this process. The existing installation procedure will have to remain in place.

I'm using K-Lite Codec Pack which is constantly updated. With configured filters/media config files you're good to go. The good thing in my case is that it mega version contain most of what I needed in encoding task If you don't do encoding normal/full version maybe sufficient.

First of all, thanks for this great version of Kodi. I've been using Kodi frontend + MPC-HC & madVR external player for a while now and this integrated version with better usability and most of the functionality is awesome.

What I'm missing is the option to somehow see and pick the used playlist when playing back Blu-rays in folders using index.bdmv. This is a problem in the few cases when the disc uses obscured playlists or has interactive version that is longer than the normal movie.

The settings option in Kodi enabling the choice or menu seems to only affect the standard player, DSPlayer just uses the longest playlist by default. Is this a bug or missing feature?

If it is a missing feature, I'd be interested to know if this could be fixed by writing a plugin that intercepts the playback start and the directs DSPlayer to play back the correct playlist instead of index.bdmv (determined by user choice / nfo / whatever). I know Python, but I'm unfamiliar with the Kodi API so the first thing would be to know if this is possible at all.

I need your help
I'm using Kodi DsPlayer with Madvr
Playing video and opening the Madvr tray , i'm trying to change some settings and then i check apply and OK
With Ctrl+J i see that all the changes are shown
When i stop the video , and i reopen the same video , i see that all the changes have been disappeared

Through Kodi GUI , playing the video i make some changes , and i see that the changes have been stored
but unfortunately these changes are only for thar video , and not for the rest vudeo library

I have 1.000 movies and you can realize that it is impossible to check one by one.

Is there any solution?
Thanks for your attention

settings, video, dsplayer, manage madvr settings through the gui of kodi - set it to no/off. you don't want exclusive mode, turn that off too.

Save the changes as profiles in the bottom of Video Settings.

There is not such option ( settings, video, dsplayer, manage madvr settings through the gui of kodi - set it to no/off )
There is not on/off but only check/uncheck

@ Warner306
(Save the changes as profiles in the bottom of Video Settings)
There is not such option (as profiles)

You mean Video settings at Settings/Video/DsPlayer? There is nof the profiles

You mean Video settings watching the movie and scaling algorithms? nothing mentioned for profiles

EDIT:
I found it
It is written as : Save as Default for all videos
Tks for your answers abd your attention

Turn on madVR settings from DSPlayer settings (before playback). Then set your settings during playback and save them as profiles from the Video Settings menu (accessed during playback).

Well, check means on, uncheck means off!

Hey all, I'm back with another issue. 4K videos lag and then kodi crashes even though everything is off and I use catmul rom for everything. Every other video resolution works.

Dvdplayer works fine as well.

I decided to just try and fix it somehow. I ended up with a script that Kodi calls as an external player, the script does couple simple checks for playlist selection and calls Kodi through JSON RPC to start playback on the playlist. Here is the repository in case someone is interested: BDPlayLister

The script doesn't support user interaction, but rather selects the playlist automagically. It is by no means a polished product, but it works well enough at least for my use case.
For the automagic to work, you can either place SRT-subtitles next to the wanted playlist or write down the playlist you want in BDMV/playlist.txt file.
An additional approach at some point could be to code the playlist in the Blu-ray movie directory name somehow.

Initially I tried an add-on approach, but that was just too limited for this case. The add-on system is unfortunately quite limited for this use and only allows to react to playback events instead of intercepting them before they happen. This meant that DSPlayer would always start playback with madVR and the add-on would need to stop it. This lead to a lot of crashing, especially when refresh rate changing was enabled.

Incidentally, I noticed that the above add-on playback stop-start method is used also by Cinema Experience plugin and a few others. I'm quite certain that this is the reason they have problems working with DSPlayer.
They probably could be changed to support this external player trick I have here, but it would require a huge amount of changes in the add-on Python code. Not to mention that installation requires extra work compared to plain add-on approach. Might be feasible for some smaller add-ons though.

UPDATE: Isengard DSPlayer 15.1

26 August 2015 (66c524b)
  • DSPlayer now uses a shared surfaces queue to show the GUI on madVR
  • Updated all new madVR settings for Image Enhancements and Upscaling Refinement
  • New system to manage madVR settings with 3 options: Never, Load and Save with DSPlayer database, Load from madVR active profile
  • New built-in LavFilters with internal settings stored into DSPlayer database (this it's also made possible thx to Nevcairiel)
  • New built-in XySubFilter (this it's also made possible thx to Cyberbeing)
  • DSPlayer now works with Isengard DX11 (this it's also made possible thx to afedchin)
  • Disabled temporarily support to EVR and VMR

let me explains better the new features that come with this build

- DSPlayer now uses a shared surfaces queue to show the GUI on madVR
I already shown the benefits in this post http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2080139 smooth GUI animations and an invisible madVR integration in the main application thread of Kodi

- Updated all new madVR settings for Image Enhancements and Upscaling Refinement
All new settings (Super-Xbr / Nedi / FineSharp / Lumasharpen / Adaptivesharpen / SuperResolution) are now available in the video osd while madVR playback, i have to say that it's particular delightful change the sharpeness and other things directly from the GUI to better see the differences

- New system to manage madVR settings with 3 options: Never, Load and Save with DSPlayer database, Load from madVR active profile
I always hated the useless things, i noticed that most of you are not using the internal madVR interface to use madVR profiles system, so now i added also the madVR profiles support
there are three options in "Manage settings with Kodi"

Image

- Never: will do nothing, and the Kodi GUI will be disabled
- Load and Save with DSPlayer database: you will use the internal profiles system, at playback start DSPlayer will restores the settings stored into the database, changes made in the madVR trayicon will not be saved into the database
- Load from madVR active profile: DSPlayer will load the settings directly from madVR at playback start, the changes made in the madVR trayicon will have effect immediately on the Kodi GUI, changing the settings on Kodi will have effect on madVR as usual

- New built-in Lavfilters with personal settings stored into DSPlayer database
With this integration my hope it's to finally solve all problems with the rules, there will be three options under Filters management

Image

you already knows about the latest two options, so lets me explains better the "Internal Filters", I included the LavFilters directly in the setup, they will not installed or registered, they will be copied in "<your path>/Kodi/system/players/dsplayer/LavFilters" and then loaded as files, you have to configure the settings directly in Kodi DSPlayer because the settings are personalized, so if you have an installation of LavFilters this will not influence the settings of internal DSPlayer LavFilters, so it's like mpc-hc for this,

Image

Image

- New built-in XySubFilter
Included also in "<your path>/Kodi/system/players/dsplayer/XySubFilter" the files necessary to make work the subtitles, the settings are not stored in DSPlayer so are global

- DSPlayer now works with Isengard DX11
thx to the great work that afedchin has made on Kodi now we have the possibility to have the GUI rendered by DX11, i tested this build in the latest days with no issue and it's a way better then dx9 in performance, so i decided to upgrade also DSPlayer to this branch, i had no time to work on EVR or VMR but i think that's not so important for now, i don't know if i will never do this job

i have something like 4/5 different version of DSPlayer but i cannot support all of them so i made a decision, only one release to have better support, concentrated only on this
