"Failed to start common cache" error: how do I fix it?
#1
Ever since I upgraded to Kodi, I get an error at startup which I never had with XBMC 13: "Failed to start common cache".

How do I fix this?

I'm running Kodi on a 1.83 GHz Mac Mini (OS X Server 10.6.8)

A Google search shows this to be a common problem going back two years that no one has any idea how to fix.

It just means that one module couldn't load. The same or similar message will show up for multiple possible issues, so it is unlikely that this is the same issue as one from two years ago.

I don't know if it is related, but your video database looks like it might be corrupted. I would suggest backing up your library using the export (wiki) feature, then deleting your myvideos##.db files under userdata (wiki) in the Database folder. Then either reimport the library or rescan, depending on how you exported.
