Just FYI, it's always best to upload (full) logs to an external site such as pastebin.com or similar. I'm pretty sure the Mods and Foundation members would prefer not to see stream urls show up in the forum.

I watched Death Race 2000 (again lol), and the only mention of packets in my kodi log was 4 duplicates when the movie started, and when the movie ended the system asked for a packet but none were available. There was no indication of skipped packets due to decoding errors.

Wondering if we're delving into more of a hardware issue rather than an add-on issue? Huh

In any event, I'll try and find some time to watch El Robot Magnos, and see if anything shows up there.

Well, this box is kinda old... but other kodi addons work well. It's not impossible I guess that this could be hardware related. I'll try to tinker again with this. Maybe with a fresh install, see what happens.

Ok, so I remembered I had a portable 14.2 helix lying around, Installed bigstar 0.1.4 and it seems to work fine with Magnos, Spoiler and even Death Race.
I'll keep checking things out. Maybe I'll try making a 16.1 Jarvis portable and try there.

I'm gonna try making a 16.1 jarvis portable when I get back home to test. BTW, the defects that I find appear in the very beginning, so no need to watch the whole thing all over again XD. Also, I edited out the streaming url. I'll be more careful next time.

Ok, It doesn't work on a portable 16.1, but it does on a portable 15.2. A portable 16.0 works the same as a portable 16.1. Huh So I guess somehting in Jarvis is making this addon work bad. Please let me know if you need more info / logs / etc.

Just an update to say that this seems to work fine on a portable kodi 17 Krypto Alpha 2.

I've recently tryed RC2 and 3 and anything seems to start playing from 00:00:06 seconds (wich skips the frist five seconds!), with a frozen frame that lasts about 2 more seconds. Any ideas?

Sorry, I've got no idea on that one. I don't have Krypton running on any of my systems, and probably won't until there's a final release. Did you notice this happening on any of the Beta releases?

Actually, I didn' bother with the betas. But I'll try to get one of then running as portable mode and see what happens.

Well, beta 6 has this problem as well. I went and disabled hardware acceleration but it didn't seem to help.

So I went ahead and installed Krypton on my system at work (don't tell my boss Wink), and I'm seeing similar behavior. Everything seems to start at 4 or 5 seconds, though I didn't notice any freezing frames. I can't access the log on my work system, so I can't see what's going on behind the scenes. When I get around to installing Krypton on one of my systems at home I'll take a look at this, but if I understand the actual playing of videos in Kodi (big if), this really doesn't have anything to do with the add-on, as it is actually Kodi that does all the playing. The add-on just gets the stream, and then hands it off to Kodi.

Yeah, but I've tryed some other addons and they seem to be fine. I can upload a log later if you need it.

Well, I never figured anything out as far as why streams seem to start at 5 seconds in Krypton. My guess is there's something on the BigStar side. I've tried a number of different streams and different ways of playing them, including the use of a .strm file, and it still does it. I thought maybe there's something in the .m3u8 file that's causing this, but I just don't know enough about the structure of an .m3u8 file to spot anything.

I'm stumped. Huh

All I can suggest at this point is to make use of the left arrow once the stream starts.

In any event, I've been informed of a different issue, which prompted me to release an update. Apparently I had an error in the addon.xml file that was causing Kodi to think the add-on is broken. Thanks @mrsfixit for letting me know about this. It was also requested that I turn off the forced views (I believe these have no effect in Krypton, but only previous versions). The updated version should fix the addon.xml, and will also remove the forced views. I added an option in the settings to force views for those who really want to do this (I do) in older versions using the Confluence skin (or any skin based on Confluence).

As an added bonus, there will now be more content available in HD, since I've found a better way to access the streams. Big Grin

Please uninstall any existing versions of BigStar before installing the latest version:

EDIT: Please download the latest version from post #49.

Please post a link to a log (wiki) on pastebin.com or similar site if you have any issues.
