hello,
is it possible to modify the media databases with python?
i would like to make a script that fetches data from different sites than imdb.
and also is it possible to get information about which item is selected in a list? if for example the user is in "my videos" can i find out which title is currently selected?

and is there another site to retrieve movie infos other than imdb?

www.tvtome.com is a site i would like to see support for as it has loads of info on tv series.

i wanted to manipulate the xbmc db file to:
1) import info about tv-series (southpark, simpsons etc.)
2) import large cover picture from amazon.
3) read other movie database files and insert the info into xbmc db.

overall i think it would be good if you could write scripts to get info for the video and music databses. that way people could convert other existing db files and and get info for example tv-series and anime films not available at imdb.
