If overclocking, it also will wind down the sdcard overclock on errors. As data transfers are protected with a CRC, this is safe-ish,
so in theory you can specify a too-high overclock and it will settle back to a reliable overclock.
Of course there are no guarantees with this, so backup before experimenting, but it should make sdcard overclock a little safer.
With this my Raspberry (OC 1000/500 and SDRAM to 480) hangs on different stages. Sometimes the booting needs "ages", sometimes after starting a movie the complete RPI hangs
