How about adding images in the Kodi settings with QR codes that will be shown on your TV to can be scanned with your smartphone's camera to install the official Kodi Remote apps?

Checkout this video with EzeeCube setup as an example:


The idea would be to include a single QR-code or a QR-code each for the official Kodi Remote app for Android and iOS linked to their respectively app store for installing when scanned:



Using such a unified combo QR code on the kodi.tv website would also mean that you do not need to use separate QR codes for Android and iOS as you need today, such as this:

I very much like the idea of adding these two QR codes to Kodi itself, but I rather have the two seperate codes than a half-working universal one.
I will explain my reasoning:

The main reason I did not use onelink, but instead went with two direct QR codes is that if you use a universal link you can't open the link directly in the store application in your phone, but always through the browser first.
If you have configured a different browser on your phone in some cases the links do not open at all.

If you link to the market:// and itms:// protocols, then the scanner apps will directly open the Android Play Store and Apple App Store
Additionally, these codes are not dependent on an external service to keep working.
