2160p60 seems to be completely unsupported, as these units don't even seem to have a DisplayPort out. There's no mention of HEVC hardware decoding either.

Edit: I guess the positive is that I'm not at all tempted.

I need a new box now (fan is failing on current box) and I was waiting on a skylake nuc and a new receiver. Since I don't have a 4K tv and no 4K content, could one of these be a good enough box?

until someone gets one of these boxes to test, it's purely academic, but I'd expect deinterlacing won't be a problem, and the specs above indicate SPDIF output (and even if it didn't, a $20 USB adapter solves that issue). But you'll probably be waiting a month at least - I'd probably just replace the fan on your current box

I wish I could, I called the manufacture and they would send me a fan from their boneyard, no charge, but charge $25 for shipping. They suggested that the fan was not replaceable with of the shelf parts.

I can use kodi, I just have to turn the unit off as I expect it would overheat if I left it on 24/7, it gets quite warm after a 2 hour movie or a TV series binge.

plenty of them say that, seldom is it true. I'd open up the box and figure out the make/model of the fan, and then hit up amazon/ebay. Barring that, pick up something cheap to tide you over in the meantime, like a RPI2, or if you don't care about HEVC, then you have lots of options (ChromeBox etc)

Hope that's a mistake. No 2160/50p and 60p over HDMI is a real let-down.

I don't know how they've been able to state that from the roadmap they show as there's no version numbers for the mHDMI mentioned on it, so they could be wrong.

Very disappointing, if true. I've very much been looking forward to upgrading to a "fully-compatible" HEVC media PC from my current (aged) setup.

"Seems DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 converters are to come out any moment now tho. So maybe there is hope that way."
