its look like kodi cant write on usb hdd.. i cant delete or rename folder from kodi, cant save subtitles.
i can rename and delete file from internal storage. and i can rename and delete files from es file explorer.

That is a limitation of Android at the moment unless you root the device, apparently google did something to fix it in Android M for TV, so there might be a workaround later.

@ Koying
When I update stalker client pvr add-on v8.0 its not working but ur built in v7.1 is working. Can u pls update it in ur KODI build pls.
Thanks

that has nothing to do with this build. This is about shield specifics and not about pvr addons.

But it stalker client pvr add-on v8.0 only not working with this build. working with KODI v15 beta.

As per first post, if you have a specific problem related to this Shield test build, post it with the logs.

Hi, here is the log about the HEVC issue i had:

http://xbmclogs.com/peoajggce

the sample tested was the 193MB 1080p version Big Buck Bunny found here:

http://www.libde265.org/downloads-videos/

Strangely enough, it did work via ES player, native Video Player and VLC on the shield.

Oh i see, is there a specific property of HEVC that i need to look for? how do i know what should work and what doesn't? or is it because development in that area is very early? thanks.

It does play on my PC via Kodi, but i guess it is software decoded.

Edit: Nevermind i found the official kodi HEVC info page, which mentions hardware decoding is limited and only on nightly builds.

Fixed instal ,for some reason kodi was stuck moving to external SD card ,just kept on saying moving to external vendors though nothing was moving,so I deleted and reinstalled, now the fun process of getting back how I had it

Does this box support hw decode for 10bit (aka Hi10p) h264? I get smeary artifacts and the color looks totally off. Works fine with sw decode but it's a pain having to switch those off and back on in the settings menu.

Well then i am not sure if i should be posting on a more general thread since am not sure if this is specific of Shield, but i can confirm that file and my other HEVC files get hardware decoded if i only enable libstagefright, with nothing enabled i get choppy playback and 250% cpu usage, with both libstagefright and mediacodec i get only audio, but with only libstagefright everything works fine and only 30% max cpu usage.

i do a little research. i think we need to update kodi to request permission for external card write.

Not sure if this is a bug in Kodi or something specific to me because I'm sure others would be having this issue if it was Kodi but I'm going to post anyway. Even after screen calibration menus for me are off. The home screen looks fine, but when actually playing a video menus and subtitles are off screen for both confluence and aeon nox. Changing the subtitle position in screen calibration does nothing. CodecInfo works in Con but is off screen in Aeon. I'm using Kodi 2015.06.13, 16GB Shield, Samsung 46" 1080p. Also have a FireTV stick with the same skins and settings which works fine on the same TV, none of the mentioned issues. Not using test build of Kodi though, using 14.2 stable.
