Android (almost) no photos displayed on Fire Stick via upnp connection
#1
Hi!

I installed Kodi on Fire stick to stream my content from my NAS (Synology 212j)
While movies work fine, pictures are usually not displayed. The directories and files show but when I select a photo the screen stays black. Also there's no preview available.

On some directories it's working tough.

I can't figure out a reason. It's most likely not related to the size of pictures. I even can't tell if it's a problem with Kodi or one with my NAS. However I can access all my pictures on my windows machines and via my android mobile.

Any idea on the source of the problem?

A suggestion for an alternate app for streaming my photos would also be fine. (

Thank you!

I'm not sure if our UPnP client fully supports pictures. Or at least, I'm not sure if anyone has tested pictures for UPnP in a very long time, as we're mostly focused on audio and video. It might just be easier to use SMB from the Synology as the source for pictures. The Synology should support multiple file sharing protocols at the same time, so you can keep using UPnP for movies if you wish.

I'll give it a try - thank you!

Edit: yes, that worked :-)
