Req alternative to prevent abuse of <requires> in addon.xml
#46
Did have a quick read of the whole Tread and a short look at the git comment.

What about to present a list with the required addons while installing the skin where the user could choose

"Install all"

or is able to select just the Addons he want? (Togglebuttons)

+ a Warning message if he decide select the ons he want instead of "install all"

"Warning some Skinfunctionalyty may got lost if you decide not to Install these Addons"

+ eventually a short discription what which Addon does.

I wouldnt like to Force the user to push a "O.K."-button for every Script / addon which comes with the Skin.

EDIT:

Here's a quick Mockup (didnt Spellcheck so sry if i did mistakes)

EDIT2:

Still not shure if this is a wise / good way!

I personaly would prefere something Like "Run.Addon" + A Setting in the Addon if it sould run as a Service.

With some Imagination i can understand that some Users dont like things like the Popup from Nextup.Script but beside this (special?) case...

you don't have to. you can still add all the mandatory addons in your addon.xml.
only the 'nice to have' ones should be installed on demand.

that's really up to the addon dev to implement.
some already have such a setting.
