Intel VAAPI howto with Leia v18 nightly based on Ubuntu 18.04 server
Looks like a toggling interlaced flag. Why don't you follow the advice from post #1? "Prefer VAAPI Render Method: on"

It was set and as soon as reenabled it, it froze as soon I started the channel. It seems to be specific to channel 6. Iwill test some more.

Can you provide a short recording of this channel?

The app doesn't currently support recording as far as I know.I will setup tvheadend.

What does the " <cputempcommand>sensors|sed -ne "s/Core 0: \+[-+]\([0-9]\+\).*/\1 C/p"</cputempcommand>" do in advancedsettings? This override the default "cputemp" in OpenELEC and in systeminfo is now only "?".

Note that recording a mkv is useless in this case.

Hey smarty, why not entering it in the shell and see?
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Cool. So next ppa build should have it. Mind PRing it upstream? Fate still happy? :-)

You are on OE. That line is therefore not needed for you.

thanks FernetMenta
I'll try at next ppa update

I also see here http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/li...03425.html some GPU accelerated decoder for VP9.
Hopefully something similar for HEVC 10bit ( at least 1080p ) will be possible in the future.
It should according http://abload.de/img/5a4q2x.png

I Just got the nuc5cpyh, I'll probably get told not in here but as I've seen some ppl here using more recent nucs I'll ask here...

I first tried the standard stable 5.0.4 openelec
I get a msg saying "xorg failed to start, is your gpu supported"

I also tried the openelec from 1st page in this thread, I get a splash screen but then just a black screen and a mouse pointer. Thats it.

I've changed nothing at all in bios etc...
Thanks.

Sent from my LG-H815 .

P.s: I don't eventually wanna look and test stuff from here but new nuc not playing ball....

Try the Ubuntu 15.04 server install from message #1 and the "GPU not supported for BSW Users:" kernel in message #2.
