Intel VAAPI howto with Leia v18 nightly based on Ubuntu 18.04 server
I don't see much info about samba in the log. Is there way to get more detail?

You play from samba, don't you? Reproduce from local USB disk and see if the error persists.

It's kinda random so won't be that easy :\

I found something in the os x logs (samba server side). Seems like eth link somewhy goes down for a second and this makes samba drop connection.

Yeah - I can't fix that for you, sorry :-)

Currently still running "Fritsch's" OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0-devel20150906075723-r21263-gb48e9d5 from Sept.
What am I missing by not playing with OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0.98-fritsch.tar?

Biggest VAPPI issue for me was RGB Full/Limited range and banding.
Has there been improvements to those issues since sept?
Or am I missing the change log?

Thanks

Hi!

Just a quick question. What version of vaapi intel-driver is used in OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-7.0-devel-20160204082654-r22031-g2f83a1c build?

Thank you.

Thumbs Up
I tried latest build (OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-7.0-devel-20160204082654-r22031-g2f83a1c) on my chromebox and I'm very happy with it. No more crashes, the picture quality is great, everything's working fine Smile

@fritsch: Thanks for your excellent work. And hey, in this post no Debug Log is required Laugh

@fritsch, Thank you!

In case anyone cares, there are still artifact problems with some VC-1, 1080p24 files with VAAPI on Celeron N3000 (Beebox). The artifacts disappear if I turn VAAPI off for VC-1s, but then the processor is not strong enough to output it in a watcheable manner. I had this problem with 1.6.1, and it persists with 1.6.2. On Windows it works fine, but then again, the bitstream issue Sad

It's a bug intel does not care about. Open a bug on bugs.freedesktop.org for that, please.

Edit: Easy solution, just convert those three samples to h264 and fine ...

if you're looking for the most up-to-date EGL build for Kodi 15.2, then you want my OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0.198-Intel_EGL build. It's fritsch's 6.0.98 build with the OE 6.0.1 updates merged in. Links on ChromeBox wiki page, in my sig

Thanks much. I removed my 6.0.98 builds and added a ReadMe.txt

Thank you for merging the latest Openelec update with EGL.
I can not test it now since I'm abroad but looking forward to it.

Would it be possible that you also upload the update files instead of only the disk image?

Thanks a lot
