Intel VAAPI howto with Leia v18 nightly based on Ubuntu 18.04 server
Not a Debug Log - please provide everything the first two posts want to have.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Here's the rest. Got confused as the link was to the kodi site about the kodi.log

And now a kodi log running that specific file, while turning on debug before playing.

Hi,

since a few days I have random crashes, mostly while using the remote. For example bringing up the codec info crashes almost reliably.
I post here because I used the setup explained here since it was written two(?) years ago, it differs slightly, because I have no systemd, but this should not be the reason:

kodi.log: https://paste.ubuntu.com/15330051/
mesa: http://paste.ubuntu.com/15330008/
vainfo: http://paste.ubuntu.com/15330009/
dmesg: http://paste.ubuntu.com/15330013/

Now I used this setup discribes in the first post because the support for the intel integrated GPU was quite new at that time.
Are most of the changes now in kodi mainline and maybe it is time for me to switch back? Random crashes reduce the WAF (woman accaptance factor) enormous. Confused

Please install gdb and get us a backtrace.

Concerning WAF: There is a stable kodi version that you can use. These builds here are for testing.

I know, that was the reason for my question if most of the vaapi stuff made it into 16.something, or if I should continue to use the test builds.

I'll try to get the GDB bt.

No - we were forced (politically correct: it was decided) to delay VAAPI work for v17 ... so it will come with v17.

It's HEVC-10, there is no intel cpu/gpu as of now that can do hevc 10 bit decoding on linux, so it is software decoded with 4 threads. Nothing we can do about the bad performance.

As a sidenote: You run piracy addons, I won't further comment on this. Next time you post a log, plesae remove those - as I don't want to go to prison for helping you with piracy addons installed, even if those are not the point of discussion.

I can but latest version I can see is: OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-7.0-devel-20160306204325-r22266-g17f062d from 6 march, don't see any other version.
