I upgraded Kodi from 14.2 to 15.0 (via apt-get upgrade), then upon reboot found my system in a boot loop. My investigation led me to change the <language> tag in the <locale> section of guisettings.xml

Was: <language>English (US)</language>
Changed to: <language>English</language>

This fixed the boot loop and enabled my system to start up.

I went into the system settings and chose "English (US)" as my language.

Now the guisettings.xml file has this: <language>resource.language.en_us</language>
