Here's a better explanation.

Using playon inside Kodi to watch live TV service like "directTV now" causes the live feed to end once a show or whatever is over. Right now I watching the Simpsons live. Once the episode is over Kodi stops the stream even though it's live. Almost like the live stream is being read as a movie in my library instead of an actual live continuous stream like PVR with my HDHomerun. Hope this makes better sense.

This is an issue related to upnp, other users have experienced the same issue outside of the plugin.
You can test for yourself and give me the appropriate feedback so we can resolve this issue.

Navigate to Kodi videos, upnp, playon server; play your live feed... if it also stops abruptly after a show. We know it's unrelated to the plugin. So we can forward the issue to the appropriate UPNP developers.

Ah yes you are correct same thing happens. Bummer

The problem is with PlayOn, not PlayOn Browser or UPNP through Kodi. Try to stream Live TV on something other than Kodi, like your phone.

If you have the PlayOn app installed on your phone, the DirecTV Now live TV streams will end at the end of the episode as well. The only reason that it plays without stopping when you open it through the PlayOn app on the Windows box that you have PlayOn installed on is that PlayOn is just going to the browser and playing it. It's not creating a file which is used by the client which is what the PlayOn server does when it gets a request from a client like Kodi or your phone.

I submitted a ticket with PlayOn (https://support.playon.tv/) back in August and followed up with them a couple of times but haven't heard anything back lately. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Welp I won't hold my breath on that one lol. But yes hopefully sooner rather than later.

Well, if you were holding your breath, you can exhale because they just put out a new release that fixes this issue. I tested it a little and seems to be working great.

Also a big thanks to Lunatixz for creating this add-on.

Unfortunatley it looks like Directv Now and Hulu are conflicting with each other. The streams ending early for DTVNow was fixed on Nov 1, but the Nov 2 update fixed Hulu but broke DTVNow. (https://www.playon.tv/releasenotes)

I sent out a support request to PlayOn so hopefully it gets fixed soon.

You can't do Hulu Live TV with this can you? I was trying to figure it out, but I am assuming it can't be done, or I missed something.

Wow. Just did some long overdue Kodi maintenance and updated. V2.0 fixed the issue of performance I used to have. Very, very nice. I have now gone from direct PlayOn to PlayOn Browser for my direct UI. Thanks a bunch -- and the recording addition is great too. Makes my Kodi 'Gold' useable across ALL of my Kodi's without nay changes (used to have to update PlayOn location).

Great job. And Thanks again.

Cheers, Tony.

Hey there,

I just found this wonderful AddOn to add Netflix and Amazon Instant Video to my Kodi installation. As I see at the AddOn Website here: https://kodi.tv/addon/plugins-video-add-...on-browser there is a Screenshot where you can add a Movie to your library. Unfortunately I didn't found such option. After a little search I found out, that it doesn't seem to be possible at this time.
PseudoLibrary seems to be offline for some reason and the only other possibility for me to add my Netflix Movies to My Library is the program MyLibrary from this Thread: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=98210 Am I correct?
Or did I do something wrong?

Thanks for your answers in advance Smile

I think PlayOn would need to rebuild that channel in order to get Hulu Live TV to work. You can probably contact them to see if/when it would be supported: https://www.playon.tv/contact-us

I think PseudoLibrary got put on the shelf a while back. I'm assuming MyLibrary still works but I haven't used it in a long time.

Is there a way to refresh the connection to the PlayOn server in PlayOn Browser?

Every time I stop and restart the server, PlayOn Browser has just the information from the previous connection stored. It will eventually refresh the connection and update all the menus/streams but I was wondering what is triggering it and how to force it to refresh.

Playon browser is already designed to seek out the new upnp id. Every Time you run Playon browser after a reset you're asked to find the new id?

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be happening. If I open my settings, it looks like this:

Code:
<settings>
    <setting id="debug" value="true" />
    <setting id="playonServerid" value="Connected to Server1-PC PlayOn v.4.3.67.20796" />
    <setting id="playonUPNPid" value="" />
    <setting id="playonmedia" value="0" />
    <setting id="playonserver" value="http://192.168.1.200:54479" />
</settings>

I have two PlayOn servers running on my network.
Server1: 192.168.1.100
Server2: 192.168.1.200

Even though I update the IP address to go to Server2, it still shows that I'm connected to Server1.

If I browse in Kodi to Videos >> Files >> PlayOn: Server1 (or PlayOn: Server2) everything works correctly.

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall PlayOn browser but still run into the same problem.

 Yup, playon browser supports only one server...
