Audio drops if Enable Passthru is enabled
Hi I'm running kodi 16.1v, I tried changing my audio settings for audio output and won't let me change it. What can I do to change my audio output setting so my 5.1 surround sound system to work

Try to use Turbo Editor available from google play

I just bought a android tv box with Android 6.0.1 and Kodi 16.1 with the Amlogic S912 processor. it stutters with pass thru every 6 or 7 seconds when streaming a file thru an SMB connection thru Kodi. But SPMC from the play store plays perfectly doing the same thing on the same box

thoughts?

I am also in beelink gt1 s912 "club" with sound issue with hdmi, spdif.

I will try spmc with passthrough settings.

Also will try on my Android mm6 with Kodi 16
echo 2 >/sys/class/audiodsp/digital_codec

If it works may be with this guide it will autoload every time you start the box.

I have got this device:
VONTAR Z5 SUPERMAX Amlogic S912 Octa Core Android 6.0 TV Box 2G/16G 2.4G/5GHz WIFI Gigabit LAN Google Play Set Top Box
There is Android 6.0.1
KODI 17 beta 3 installed

I have the same problems as mentioned in this topic.
No passthrough signal for DTS, AC3 signal is lagging.

Thank you @gatecrasher63 for idea with SPMC. I must try it. Is it working for you?

@vawaver
Don't use SPMC, use Kodi.
On Android you can install ES File Explorer.
Open the device - /sys/class/audiodsp/
Edit the "digital_codec"file and change 0 to 2 (save & exit)
And everything will works perfect.

Yeah, I thought that too, that it it's easy...it was easy to implement, but didn't work in my case, well...not as it should - check my previous posts. Only after I switched from Android to LibreElec everything works just prefect. Recommended!

Your solution does not work for me Undecided
"digital_codec"file and change 0 to 2 - I changed it but no change for DTS. Sad

@kwapa
Please explain "Android to LibreElec"?
You bought other device?

Any ideas guys?

This will help:
http://odroid.com/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=e..._note_v2.3

Th only problem you then have is its a royal PITA changing from AC3 to DTS all the time if that is what is needed.

I use LibreELEC on micro SD card on the same device. I boot it from SD card, thanks for the instruction linked by@wrzxtasy. Please check posts #127, #128 in this thread.

It's no problem, but I'm not that expert you're probably looking for. I just followed instruction given I post #128 in this thread. That's it. Follow the instruction. Guaranteed problem solved for audio drop out. If you want to boot Android again, just remove the SD card with LibreELEC and reboot your device. Good luck! Below I'm re-posing that link from post #128 (all credits to @wrxtasy, @azido and @kszaq).

For this time there is no libreELEC for S912 devices.
On Every reboot i change the digital_codec to "2", not "3" and dolby and dts are playing nicely.
I am trying to make auto startup script, so every time you reboot the device
it will set it automatic.
No root yet for gt1 6.0.1
