I tried with a different not-default screensaver and Kodi restarts as well!!!

So it is not related to DCS. Thanks for that.

I'm glad that you've gotten to this point, just keep in mind that something is broken with your Kodi.
Try starting from scratch (like I wrote already) and try to figure out what exactly causes your issues. Install addons one by one and you'll find out what's the problem relatively quickly.
Hello guys!

I am returning to my problem with Kodi restarting when coming back from DCS with an update!
This weekend I finally found the time to format my SD card and do a clean Raspbian (lite) install.

As i turns out, the problem happens ONLY when I switch to Greek language in regional settings!
When I am on English I have no issue whatsoever!
Remember this is a clean Raspbian install and I have the same behaviour both in Quartz skin and in the default Estuary!

Maybe this helps a little in troubleshooting...

Regards.

I've tested this out and on Windows, it crashes Kodi.
I have no idea why and I'm unable to troubleshoot it further.
Not sure if it's some Kodi problem with Greek language or it's the screensaver.
I'm unable to help with this unfortunately.
I apologize.

Just updated to 5.1.0 and it doesn't work at all - screen gets just black and nothing is appearing.

Hi!
Sorry about that, on my end everything works as it should.
Can you tell me what platform you are using and Kodi version?
Also do you know how to upload Kodi logs?
I don't need the debug ones, just the normal ones as they will show screensaver issues pretty clearly.

EDIT: I just see the title of this thread and it says version 6.0. (Update 30.12.2020)
I did the update in "normal" way and it had been updated to 5.1.0 so where to get 6.0.0 from?

You need to disable weather information in screensaver settings.
It should work fine then.

I have it disabled already since the beginning when I start using your screensaver: Enable weather information checkbox is not enabled.
With that setting previous version of your screensaver was working properly.

I've figured it out, you have now playing info enabled and album art as well, but nothing is playing.

What I did is: I have installed Weather add-on and enabled Weather Information in screensaver - now it works.
But anyway its easy to reproduce: uncheck Weather Information in screensaver while no Weather addon is installed and you get the error.

Thank you again for reaching out to me.
I'm glad to see you have it sorted out.
You are a real OWNER of your add-on - immediate reaction and fix.... I wish other developers would have same attitude but unfortunately sometimes they abandon their work which means a lot of good add-ones will stop working when Kodi Matrix arrive which require Python 3 compatibility. This is for Xonfluence skin (made by Helly1206), MyPicsDB (made by XYCL) and probably a lot of other add-ones as well.
So, BIG thanks and keep doing good job.
Best regards.
