Solved Kodi keeps crashing
#1
I'm having a lot of trouble with Kodi crashing. It doesn't seem to happen when I do anything in particular and it causes a system freeze rather than just closing Kodi. When it happens all I can do is restart the system.

I am running kodi on a fresh install of mint 17.2 and it used to happen on 17.1 too.

I've had a look at the logs, but they don't mean much to me...

Any ideas?

install the correct nvidia binary drivers
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I found a new driver on the NVidia website and tried to install it, but I think I had ideas above my station because I now can't start the x server Sad
I'll keep going with the new problem and hopefully the new driver will have fixed it.

Rookie mistake, you went and installed the run binary package and ignored what Nvidia says to use system packages instead.

Remove that uninstall it then add this ppa https://launchpad.net/~universal/+archive/ubuntu/nvidia and install those packages there. You probably need to remove nouveau first. thers tons of internet posts on this matter that tell you what to do.
