If it works I'll include it in the normal build later this evening.
Getting a bit closer, but sadly no. I'm not seeing the rc_hauppauge module, but it's dependency of rc_core now shows up. I'll dig into this more. Thanks.
Just to document this, there is a change in Kernel 4.5 to ir-kbd-i2c that partially reverts a commit back on Kernel 4.3. This affects the auto-loading of the I2C driver. This partial revert is because of a bug in the hdpvr drivers.

The partial revert is this. The bug report for the hdpvr is here.
I'm using a chromebox with an intel 2955u cpu and when i first tried the krypton builds a few months I would get major slowdown after a few hours and restarting the box was the only solution. I updated to the latest krypton build and the same thing is happening even more frequently (cpu usage was so high that there was delays when i typed letters when i ssh'd in).

I have a log here if its any use

Milhouse, I have this working now!

If I issue the following it works.
Code:
modprobe ir-kbd-i2c

So where should this be placed to have it run at start/boot?

Does this still require CONFIG_LIRC_ZILOG=m?

Add the modprobe in /storage/.config/autostart.sh - if it doesn't exist, create it.

Add the modprobe in /storage/.config/autostart.sh - if it doesn't exist, create it.
"CONFIG_LIRC_ZILOG=m" is not needed.

Thanks for the help.
Hi Milhouse,

I just noticed some minor glitches during playback and saw in the OSD that it drops a frame every 7.5 to 8 seconds.
The Debug overlay shows me that it switches from 23.4 to 24.4 fps every second.
My TV is set to 24 hz, the file has 23.976fps video.
DTS audio is sent via passthrough.

Can you please test and report issues using only the OpenELEC builds posted (and documented) in this thread.

I appreciate people want to use LibreELEC builds (and I want to switch over ASAP too!) but until they're fully documented they're essentially unsupportable and are offered only on that basis.

As an example, LE #0410 I built Sunday morning, OE #0410 I built almost 24 hours later during which time there were several render-related merges. Totally different builds.

Try a fresh setup cause i have same setup and maybe dirt install (switch many times from milhouse and fritsch bulid and now Libreelec) never see cpu load problem

If you use rss feed try disabling it

That's already fixed in fernetmenta's latest master and most stuff is already pushed to kodi's master - so give it some time.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

anyone using pvr.hts? And can confirm that the add-on load properly on startup? Then i would try clean install. Thanks in advance.
There's definitely something wrong with the latest OE #0410 test build - ever few minutes I accumulate hundreds of skipped frames. They're not false positives either, the frame rate visibly slows as frames are skipped.

In the following debug log (Blade Runner, VC1, 1080p, 23.976, TrueHD), the skipped frames start at about the 155.037155 mark: http://sprunge.us/GgUb

This is the start of Blade Runner - the 57 skipped frames is presumably while it sorts out the refresh rate change:

Image

then for no obvious reason it accumulates hundreds of skipped frames:

Image

Notice also that the a/v sync is *very* unstable - this would normally be rock solid.

Other non-VC1 material (regular h264) is also affected in exactly the same way.

A local build I created (LE #0409) is absolutely fine - a/v sync is rock solid, with no skips (apart from at the beginning), however the next build (LE #0410) is not so this the first build with issues. This would suggest the problem affecting the OE #0410 build documented in this thread is introduced - merged to Kodi master, or added to fernetmenta master - some time after 20160409 12:36:33 but before 20160410 15:04:22 (UK time, UTC+1).

Playback device is a Revo 3700 (ION2). I've ruled out the driver, as the #0409 build is using the same updated 340.96 driver.

Disregard the comments about a/v sync being "rock stable" in #0409 - it looks like the Codec OSD is broken in #0409 and stops updating after a while! However #0409 does not suffer from the visible dropped frames, as #0410 does.

Another issue, which seems to have started with build OE #0320 (is not there in #0316) and is present in the latest builds: when seeking (big jump forwards/10 minutes) in Blade Runner (MKV, VC-1, 1080p, TrueHD), once playback resumes there is a green frame flashed on screen every once or twice a second - sometimes this lasts only 2-3 seconds, but other times it continues indefinitely. I've tried reproducing with h264 material but cannot, yet see it with all my VC-1 material, so it seems to be VC-1 specific.
