hi,

is there any way to disable creating thumbnails form normal files that are not imported in the library? i offen watch film oder series that i haven't imported to the library because i never seen them and don't know whether i like them. kodi creates thumbnails for all these files. can i disable this? the only thumbails i wanna see are the fanarts and posters i've saved in the same folder as the library content (in don't use scraping images from internet).

I don't think so. There is a utility script called texturecache.py by user Milhouse here on Kodi forums that can remove cached art but that is only after it has been cached already.
