I'm not sure if this belongs here, in the skinning section, or in feature request so feel free to move thread as desired.

Is there a way to show chapter tick marks in the seek bar. Vlc's shows the chapters as tick marks below the seekbar, http://imgur.com/kr1JYZ.png for clarification. I'm hoping Kodi has an option to display little circles/diamonds inside the seek bar like http://i.stack.imgur.com/oJOuA.png.

From my own investigation, I don't see any of the progress or seek controls having explicit support for it. I believe it might be possible for an add-on to create a custom overlaytexture that the progress control can show.

Anybody want to comment on the feasibility before I spend a bunch of my time reading up on python in kodi at http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on_development to create my first add-on?

I think there was once some discussion about this for EDLs (edit decision lists) to show where commercial skips would be in the timeline. I think the conclusion there was similar, that there is no current built-in way for this to be done but it might be possible to hack something that lays over an existing progress bar. Not really the best solution, but possible, I think. However, I wouldn't take my word on it that this is possible, so I'll move this over to the add-on development sub-forum.
